The Combilift company was established by two engineers, Martin McVicar and Robert Moffett. Between them, they had more than 40 years of engineering experience when they established the company during the year 1998 in Monaghan, Ireland. In only over ten years, Combilift became a leader within the long handling market all over the globe, providing equipment to over 50 markets worldwide. Supported by a trusted global network of distributors which have helped expand distribution into many markets all over the globe and using their extensive experience and knowledge, Moffett and McVicar have built products which are in high demand and had sold 10,000 models by mid 2009.
Below is a summary of some of the Combilift units.
C-Series Combilifts are available in an array of mast options. Lift heights up to nine meters and lift capacities up to 25,000 kilograms are available. Engines are available in electric or battery, LPG or gas and diesel and the C-Series Combilifts could operate in 210 centimetres wide guided aisles.
Combilift Straddle Carriers offer the ability to lift heavy, oversized cargo such as fully loaded containers which weigh as much as 35 tons. These loads can be transported all over a facility or work site and the Combilift Straddle Carrier can lift fully loaded containers where required, whether it be from trailer to trailer, from the trailer to the ground or from the ground to the trailer. These types of machines are an efficient, cost effective solution for numerous haulage, shipping, and distribution businesses, even those kinds with low throughput levels.
The SL-Series side-loaders are machines capable of driving in four directions thanks to its multi-directional steering. This all-wheel drive, hydrostatic lift truck could benefit companies in numerous ways, one of which is to allow facilities to have aisles that are narrower. It also allows the capability to bulk or block stack by driving forward. This extremely manoeuvrable type of truck is normally considered to be a superior choice compared to numerous traditional sit-down sideloaders due to the various additional capabilities and features.
