A type of machinery in the material handling industry that could be utilized to lift and transport loads from one place to another is referred to as a forklift. Every forklift component has a particular function. Different parts could be used to transport the load either vertically or horizontally.
Mast
The forklift mast refers to all the components that lift and lower the load. There are different kinds of masts utilized for lifting loads to various heights: simplex, duplex, triplex and quad.
Power Supply
Forklifts have four various ways of being powered: gas, electric, diesel and propane. The battery is located inside the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is located on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on diesel and gas forklifts is underneath the back of the truck.
Cab
Positioned within the middle of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The steering wheel, gas pedal, brake, lifting controls and tilting controls are all located in the cab.
Frame
Carrying all the biggest forklift parts is the truck frame. This consists of the counterweights situated at the rear that prevents the truck from tipping over when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
