Operator Environment
The Spirit Delta cab gives the operator a safe and efficient place to work from. The cab design is the end result of a major analysis of operators' working conditions. The most important objective is to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and huge glass areas unobstructed in order to keep the field of vision clear. The ergonomically designed instrument panel is really comfortable and gently rounded. This specific area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential info, so as to keep the operator functioning as effectively as he or she could.
Noise levels and vibration controls are kept low thanks to the insulated mounting on the chassis. So that they can maintain an optimal working position, the hydraulic controls and operator seat are all independently adjustable. In addition, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 ergonomically positioned multi-functioned and easy to operate levers which are offered for the horn, window washers, gear changing and windscreen wipers.
To ensure a comfortable cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit supplies incoming air that is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for recirculation, defrosting, cooling and heating. As an extra option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all within easy reach. Basic instrumentation consists of: high coolant temperature, low brake pressure, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. Additionally, gauges display values for operating time, fuel quantity, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.
One of the key options the 8 to 10 tonne trucks could be equipped with is the ECS or also called Electronic Control System monitoring. This allows for easy supervision of the unit. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS or Electronic Control System and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any errors which take place and their current values.
