Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names like: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of equipment are basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit while they move cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances within manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and transport unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the right answer if you are looking for a cheap method for moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right choice.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece equipment made particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in order to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Usually, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which could function in smaller aisles. They are very handy pieces of machinery during cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
