Inventor Jerome Case established the business of CASE in Racine, when he started the building of threshing machinery. Later the business gained recognition internationally as the first maker of steam engines for its agricultural application. By the year 1912, Case had become established within the construction machine industry. The rapidly began to manufacture road building machinery like steam rollers and graders. Case grew their construction machinery business through different acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation in 1957. Case had expanded their business by the mid-1990s to become the leading producer of medium-sized to light-sized construction machinery.
Case merged with the company New Holland during the year 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This business became responsible for advertising some of the world's top brands of construction and agricultural machines.
