Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They can run from liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for many applications. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which are able to be changed out when the machinery must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should truly be careful so as to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for example: be certain to put on the appropriate safety equipment like heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Make certain that you turned off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
